Peugeot Boxer Jump Start Terminals Empty Peugeot Boxer Jump Start Terminals

Under the bonnet of my 2.2 Peugeot Boxer Diesel (Broadway 2016) I can easily locate the earth point for jump start (right in the middle up near the bonnet) but for the life of me cannot find the positive terminal.  Don't need it now but may in the future!  Anybody point me in the right general area?

Hi Roli,
would you like to re-visit that last sentence?

On ours (2013) the negative is a bolt at the right hand side at the front, just under the bonnet, looking at the front of the vehicle. The positive is at the same side but further back into the engine, it has flip up cover over it to stop accidental shorting when working on the engine but is marked with a "+" .

It is indicated in our Peugeot manual so have a look in yours, if not I can post a picture of it

Thanks Mike. The Earth is clearly identified and, yes, I was expecting to see a covered positive terminal. The manual is not clear. I will take another look under the bonnet.

I came across this thread this afternoon while I too was trying to find the jump start terminals (2017 Boxer).
I assume you found them by now or gave up.
The -ve is very easy to find. The problem is the +ve is covered by a cover that isn't labelled in the same manner as the -ve and you need pliers to open the cover (so I assumed it wouldn't be the terminal).

Possibly slightly off-topic but none the less maybe of interest is undernoted advice/tip from ASOC.

Title Procedures & Precautions For Battery
Disconnection & Reconnection on Boxer Vehicles Issued Sept 04
Post approval: Later models may have a differing procedure. Check your van’s handbook.
Procedure for Battery Disconnection
1. Whenever a vehicle battery has to be disconnected, switch off all equipment interior lights etc.
close the doors leaving the driver’s window down
2. Switch off the ignition and remove the key and DIAG if connected
3. Wait a full 5-minutes before disconnecting the battery
Do not operate any equipment on the vehicle during this time.
If the battery is under the bonnet open the bonnet first and leave it up.
Always disconnect the DIAG.
Procedure for Battery Reconnection
Unless instructed otherwise by Peugeot or Product Service, you must always carry out the following
procedure when reconnecting the vehicle’s battery supply.
Ensure that the procedure for battery disconnection has been adhered to and importantly all electrical
functions are switched off.
1. Close all doors on the vehicle
2. Remove the ignition key if left in the ignition
3. Reconnect the battery. Do not open any doors
4. Wait 10 seconds
Procedure for Jump Starting a Vehicle fitted with ECUs
Certain precautions must be observed when jump starting vehicles fitted with ECUs. Failure to do so
can result in spiking ECUs including the BSI and engine management. Remember, when connecting
the leads always fit the earth lead clamp last when completing the jump circuit and disconnect it first
on removal.
1. Having connected the jump leads, start the donor vehicle, then start the vehicle with the flat
battery
2. Wait a few minutes for its tick-over to stabilise. Do not rev the engine
3. Switch on its headlights, heated rear window and heater fan.
4. Remove the jump leads from the vehicles
5. Switch off all loads one by one
6. Allow vehicle to idle and recharge battery
This procedure prevents the alternator, suddenly loaded by the removal of the jump leads, from
creating a high voltage spike before the alternator’s regulator can stabilise the voltage.
