Teething troubles
Since been out for a week in our Devon can I ask a few question
Is it normal for the carbon minoxide unit to constantly bleep about four five times per day bearing in mind we just bought the van?
We couldn't get ant sound from our avex tv picture was perfect but only had a vague whisper we tried adjusting bass treble turning on off to no avail?
What makes the seats more comfortable the one that turn into a bed I found them hard to sit in for long any tips?
Thanks everyone

Sounds like the battery in the Co monitor
You haven't by any chance knocked the mute control on the tv ?
Seats Cheapest option is a memory foam cover, other option talk to Regal Upholstry about alternative cushions

You say you have a brand new van but on your profile it says 2011?
CO stands for carbon monoxide.

Re: Teething troubles
Hi Perdy,
With regards to CO monitor, only good for 6 years max batteries are not replaceable. Printed on the CO 'Replace after six years', whilst driving my Devon for MOT got the occasional beep on CO Monitor and when I looked at it I saw the 6 year message. The unit in my 2010 Devon I could not replace like for like as the unit was obsolete. I went to local PlumbCentre and purchased a Honeywell X-Series Battery Alarm which is suitable for Caravans and Motorhomes, I got the XC70 model which is ok for 7 years.£20.00 inc VAT. slightly small but very neat. Had no trouble with our TV so could be a problem in Set6tings. Sleeping on the bed try turning the seats over we find them comfortable that way, tried foam toppers, too much trouble with storage for the minimum amount of extra comfort. Hope the weather is better for you next time out.
Regards Peter C

Re: Teething troubles
Hi and welcome to the forum from Leicestershire .
I have just experienced the same problem with my FireAngel CO monitor regularly beeping. When removed it it states that it has a 6 year lifetime and that there are no serviceable parts inside. The manufacturing date was 2009 but this is not relevant since there is a tab that is removed on fitting to activate the unit.
I have purchased a replacement unit: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00O57EBUE/ref=pe_1909131_77697001_tnp_email_TE_AMZLdp_1 and the fitting cradle masks the original screw holes.
Hope this helps ... Jeff

Re: Teething troubles
Why store the foam toppers, we had two made to fit the tops of the long seats and they sit happily under a throw so the seats are extra comfortable all the time! If we want a double they just sit side by side and do not move as a rule!

Re: Teething troubles
I also have a fire angel with 7 yr battery (I think it's 7 but after reading this thread it might be 6). When not using the van, I re-insert the tab to make it last longer.
