240 socket
Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove a 240 socket. It's black with a Crome outer trim, no screws showing. My wife used it for her hair dryer and now it doesn't work.

The outer rim should clip off revealing the screws behind. Are you sure the hairdryer has not just tripped the circuit breaker on your mains box?

Don't think so , because the other sockets work fine.

Do as moggy suggests, to remove the trim, just prises off then remover socket from the wall box and check the connections to the socket.
It can happen that just 1 socket fails. I have a 6 bank in the radio shack and all are ok barring one socket

Have you checked the wire connections on the plug ?
Also the fuse in the hair drier plug ?
Can't be anything complicated, if it was working ok initially..............(famous last words)

Hair dryer still works so it must be the socket. Thanks for reply.
