2nd leisure battery on Broadway FB
Has anyone fitted a 2nd leisure battery to a Broadway FB just wondering which would be the best way to do it so it intergrates with the rest of the Sargent system
thanks

I fitted a second leisure battery to our Broadway EB under the seat where original is fitted.
I then went into the Sargent control panel and altered the 105 amp setting to 210amp setting.

Just looking at the Sargent info now did you connect the 2 batteries together through a fuse I presume you got 2nd battery identical to the original.
Or does it not matter as the charger sorts it out.
Thanks

Yes I got Identical make and ampage, and yes to fuse same as on original battery.
John.
Ps
I had to alter the position of original battery to make space for second one.

Hello, apart from changing the amp settings on the control panel was there any other changes made to the electrical system? Did you have to re-calibrate the reading for the battery monitor too?artheytrate wrote:Yes I got Identical make and ampage, and yes to fuse same as on original battery.

I'm thinking of adding another to my Malvern but worried about the warranty if I did.
Thanks Mark.

Set your ampage, charge your batteries fully and reading should be 100% if not reset to 100%.markwhittam wrote:Hello, apart from changing the amp settings on the control panel was there any other changes made to the electrical system? Hi, reading this thread has prompted me to ask a related question! I'm not intending to encroach on the thread but it is related.
If one wants to remove or disconnect the leisure battery, are there any guidelines to be followed?
I.e. Remove Negative first etc...

I would turn off all the 12 volt supply at psu, and as you say remove negative first.

Thanks, I'll bear it in mind when I come to upgrade.

Cheers John, glad I asked, I wouldn't have generally thought of turning the PSU off

Does turning the PSU switch off isolate the 12v system? I thought it switched off the ehu side/charger as do the CB switches. Seems to on my EC328.

On the EC500, I'm pretty sure it disables the12volt system because the display panel shuts down and nothing 12 volt works.
That's how it works on my 2014 Broadway EB.

Re: 2nd leisure battery on Broadway FB
I fitted 2 more 110ah batteries next to the original battery in our Broadway FB. I fitted them in parallel so didn't need to change any settings in the Sargent control panel.
I had to remove the plastic box from the original battery so I could fit the others in. Just make sure you fuse all the batteries and vent all of them through the hole in the floor.
