At last - I've bought a Symbol!!
At last, after what seems like years, I've just bought a 2003 Symbol and am looking forward to many adventures up and down the highways and byways of this, as yet, unexplored country of ours!
A couple of quick questions to fellow Symbol owners. When travelling, should I leave the Vehicle/Leisure battery rocker switch on the control panel in the mid position ?
When the vehicle is locked using either the key fob or the Sigma S34 fob, the sliding door remains unlocked and has to be locked with the key - is this normal?
Finally, when sleeping do you just lock the doors with the key fob or do you use the Sigma fob ? Surely if you use the Sigma fob this will activate the internal movement sensors in the van as you move about?
Many thanks in anticipation of your replies.

Congrats on your purchase. The rocker switch doesn't matter which position as 12v circuit is off when ignition is on. Both batteries will be charged when engine running. I had a Sigma (not the s34 but the s30) alarm and as you say the internal sensors will be activated if you use the sigma fob but there should be a method of disabling the internal sensors whilst leaving the doors alarmed, have you the instructions? If not download from here...

Well done,,,All doors should lock with central locking,,,,,We never use alarm when overnighting. Lovely vans,,like a tardis. We downsized from a coach built and find we are just as comfortable. I have fitted two checker plate boxes to rear doors beneath cycle rack for extra storage,,,,Hope you enjoy it. BUSBY65.

Thanks for your reply busby65. I've just been out to the van and found a lever on the inside of the sliding door which appears to give the option of having all the doors locked except the side door or all the doors locked. Still investigating everything so had not spotted the lever before.busby65 wrote:Well done,,,All doors should lock with central locking,,,,,We never use alarm when overnighting. Thanks Paulmold. I do have a Sigma manual but am still ploughing through all the info I got when I bought the van. Information overload at the moment!Paulmold wrote:Congrats on your purchase. Have lots of fun with your Symbol it does take time to work out what all the bits do or don't do. Just don't bother to drive to Clacton as they are anti motorhomes on sea front. Frinton on sea oddly allows them to park on sea front. Considering that was once the posh place and Clactons not seems odd Clacton so anti. Having family in Essex often up that way myself.
