Re: Base vehicle details
Does your V5C not have full base vehicle details, Neil?

Re: Base vehicle details
Hi, my 1999 Duetto is based on Ford Transit 100 LWB, I would assume yours is the same base vehicle, though mine has the 2.5 turbo engine.
Hope that helps

Not sure if you're aware but you can now do all the change of ownership stuff on the gov.uk website:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
we did this recently and had immediate confirmation of change by email then the new V5C came in the post within 5 days.

Apart from the Transit Forum have a look on the Ford Etis Web Site it will give you all details of your vehicles chassis

Re: Base vehicle details
Hi Neil , Don't be surprised if youre van is a different year model than the registration. Once the vans are built they will be stood before they are converted. A 55 plate van could be a 2003 build model. As Roli said Ford Etis will confirm the year model for parts etc.

Re: Base vehicle details
very true,,my 1998 Excelsior was on a 1996 base vehicle. Wonder if Ford sold them old stock on the cheap? Once purchased a Seddon/Atkinson tractor unit that had been stood unregistered for over a year,,saved about £20000 on list price,,,BUSBY65.

Re: Base vehicle details
Sounds like you have a mk 4 transit lwb 100 if you have the banana engine, we had one and found the same problem. Partly this is because ford no longer list them on their site. Transit forum is very useful highly recommend you join that. Most parts are still available however, not that we needed many on ours. Best engine Ford ever engineered, unfortunately it failed new exhaust emision standards.
