Re: Step Light
Alan,
My identical steplight failed quite some time ago now and I was also mystified by how it came apart. In the end I just used brute force and prised out the lens (very non-engineering) - it was either that or throw it away. Unfortunately I can't tell you which end I managed to force apart, it's too long ago now, I probably attacked the end with most movement. Amazingly it did not break and I was able to make up an LED to replace the wedge bulb with the thought that it would probably not survive such treatment a second time. I believe you can buy a ready made LED equivalent in that package these days. But all that assumes that you can force the lens off - good luck!

It can be opened without wrecking it. See GramamF update here https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t14506-step-light-failure#147219
