Mercedes "wallowing" Empty Mercedes "wallowing"

Post by yammy Mon Apr 11, 2016 5:41 pm

Seems quite clear that nothing can touch the Merc when it comes to the Autobox   up! but someone mentioned the other day that the only trouble is the fact that as the chassis is so narrow at the back (reason why the wheels are set so far inward ) the vehicle does suffer from "wallowing". Has anyone had any experience of this and would that be a reason why they might have introduced "Wind Assist" ? confused3  Be very interested in thoughts and thank you in advance as away at mo and difficult to reply !!
cheers

I am glad that no comments mean that who ever told me that was wrong, as I would have thought, if it was correct, out of 83 views so far, someone might have agreed, so thats good news for Mercedes, thank you.  allthumbz

Sorry yammy , did read your topic and couldn't provide an answer, I have rear air assist on our Sigma and find it really good for road handling and cornering.

Dont apologise Boaby, I have no knowledge of Mercs apart from my car so any info on the vans is very interesting, thank you.

Hi yammy
I have the Dunlop single valve air assist unit on my current van, my last van a 09 Nuevo had the Alko air-top dual valve fitted.
Don't know if any of the Merc van members have air assist on their vans?
