Matty,
If you remove the diesel filter that will tell you if the fuel is getting that far. If possible it would be well to replace it with a new one.
I suppose that it is possible that when you thought you had run out of fuel that instead something had blocked the fuel line.
If the fuel filter is dry then you will have to work back towards the tank.

Re: t4 with no deisel to injectors
Might be too late matty but, Fill the fuel filter up to the brim and then screw on. If you have a priming pump on the top of the filter? or on the pump? pump it until you feel no more resistance.
Is your battery fully charged?
Spinning the engine at a full rate of knots may help.
You may even have to crack more than one injector pipe.
Hope that helps
ps. many years of starting buses!!

Re: T4 Trooper no deisel to injectors
Hi there,
You have my deepest sympathies as I once spent £1,000 sorting out a 10p problem - and never again!
Running out of fuel probably means that:
A) The air in the lines will have to be completely purged before the injection pump will operate.
B) Running the tank dry probably means that you have dredged up all the rubbish accumulated in the tank and the filter will need changing.
In my own situation a tiny "in-line" filter, just upstream of the lift pump, was clogged with debris from the tank and, although the engine would start OK, prolonged running resulted in fuel starvation.
THE TINY FILTER WASN'T SHOWN IN THE MANUAL!!!
So, my advice is to check everything before spending any money and remember that a light at the end of the tunnel isn't always a train coming your way!!
Best regards,
Dutto

Matty,
Don't get too bogged down with too many suggestions.
It was running ok until you ran out of fuel?
Then the chances are it is airlocked and may need bleeding and bleeding and bleeding!
I have even known to pressurise the fuel tank in order to bleed all the air out.(last resort)
Keep making sure that fuel filter is full with fuel.
Good luck
