Hi all. Can anyone please offer advice on safe transportation of dogs in a Symbol. We have a Golden Retriever and a small Labrador to transport. Cheers wave

I don't know the symbol but if it has seat belts for 2 extra passengers you can get dog harness that plugs into seat belt buckle.

In our Gloucester I fitted an eye bolt to the end of the settee with a strap fitted to it, clipped to the dog harness. He has a bed between the front seats that he can reach but no further.

I use a strap too, fitted round the inner support of the bench seat on my Nuevo to his harness along with a "shock absorber" attachment (basically a big spring) so in the event of heavy braking or (hopefully not) a bump he wont get such a jolt through the harness.  The strap can then be hidden by lifting the cushion and dropping into the seat base.

Best to keep the strap fairly short though so in the event of a bump they wont travel at speed along the length of the van coming to a sudden stop which can injure them more.  Also make sure it's short enough to actually stop them hitting any furniture etc.  Easy to want to give them slack to get comfy, but too much will potentially allow them to get hurt.
