Information on a Side Step (Pull Out)
Hi all, new to the forum, my wife and I own a 1999 Auto Sleeper Symbol, and we were wondering where we can purchase a pull out side step to fit under the sliding door, any ideas please. Stuart. S Wales.

Hi,
We have a Symbol and have the exact same step fitted. Works a treat and is stronger than it looks.
It was fitted by the previous owner after he had left the previous step 'out' and hit a bollard with it !

I have an electric one, so that I wouldn't drive off with it extended. Got it from here:

You need a special fitting kit for the Boxer and the electric step, don't know about the manual one. You also need a meaty pop riveter and strong wrists.
It won't fit directly under the side door as the exhaust is in the way, it has to be fitted a couple of inches forward. [not that you notice].
Frank
PS
'Talisman' is confusing.

Hi Stuart
Thule Omnistep is the currently favoured manufacturer by many motorhome converters.
The Omnistep 400 (400mm width) slide-out is commonly used. They are available for about £220 .Try a "cheapest omnistep" search for the best deal...........it will not be on Ebay !! You may also be able to buy an approved fitting kit for your vehicle at about £55. There is also an optional relay kit for automatic withdrawal when you start the engine (if it isn't already withdrawn).

Stuart That should have been Thule Omnistep slide-out 12v. It's the electric version.
