Curtain hooks for a Duetto
Just started to put curtains back in the duetto, not an easy job lost a few little hooks. Can anyone tell me where I could purchase some from so that I have some spares. These are the ones that, as someone previously said, look like teeth. Many thanks.

Have you asked A-S themselves? I have previously found them good for spare parts and even if they do not stock them, perhaps they could give you stockist details?

Curtain hooks
Thanks for that. I did actually think of AS but thought someone on there might have an idea.

Re: Curtain hooks for a Duetto
We got curtain hooks for our Duetto from the VW place near Doncaster, Google will find them. Good luck re-fitting the curtains. I recall a lot of contortions and swearing every time the hooks fell of the curtains. Once we were happy with the position of the hooks we put a drop of superglue on the string bit before putting them on the rails.
I took all the hooks and rail ends off the old curtains before we sent them as patterns but we still needed more hooks when we re-fitted them. Autosleepers were very stingy with the amount of original hooks.

A/S do sell them but those what Paul posted will be cheaper, though they look very different to what i bought from A/S.

Re: Curtain hooks for a Duetto
Sorry those are not the ones that Autosleeper have used in my van and several others, they are small like teeth, they are Silent Gliss sold by John`s Cross just saw them on their web site, tried to find my receipt when I bought mine no luck, there doesn`t appear to be any like that on eBay, not that I could find, they are very tiny and fiddly to get on , the place I bought mine from also sold the tape as I renewed that as well as it was fraying in places.
Hope this is helpful.

That sounds more like mine!! "Very tiny and fiddly"......i took one look at them and gave up! I'm a bloke with hands like shovels and thick fingers so not a chance in hell of fitting them!
To be honest i only bought them with the intention of getting a curtain made up which has been removed from my van by a previous owner (the window on the side sliding door), but i opted for the simple 'quick fix' solution and bought one of those folding screen sun reflectors for a couple of quid which does the job perfectly.
Here is a close up pic of them. There are 40 of them, still brand new unused, complete with curtain tape (or whatever its called!) they fit to. If these are the same as the op's then i'll price 'em up at AS and you can have them for what i paid.

Re: Curtain hooks for a Duetto
Thanks for all your help, also thank you Bulletguy for the offer. They are the ones but I have now been able to get some off ebay, awaiting delivery. Also I contacted AS and they do have them £5.00+VAT for a 100.
As you say Dave 418 a lot of swearing. This was the second time I have done this but it does not get any easier. Anyway done for another 12 months.

Has any one changed the curtain rail to something that is easier to hang curtains on? BUSBY65.

Re: Curtain hooks for a Duetto
Hi busby65. I haven’t changed the rails, but have replaced the little fiddly hooks with Silent gliss 3533, which have a loop on the bottom of them, then used normal curtain hooks in the header tape. The tape fitted by auto sleepers doesn’t really have the correct apertures for the curtain hooks to go through, but I just forced them through the material of the header tape. It means that the sliders don’t have to be removed to take the curtains down for washing, and I think they feel and look better, because the loops on the top of the tape we’re starting to sag. Incidentally I also had a lot of mildew visible on the curtain linings, which washing didn’t remove, so I dyed them in my washing machine. It didn’t take at all on the blue curtain material, but the linings are now kind of denim-y blue, and the mildew doesn’t catch the eye like it used to :-)

Re: Curtain hooks for a Duetto
I have changed the rail in the cab of my Symbol,,easy to fit in place of that AS fiddly stuff...The heading tape was rotting but i suppose after 15 years it hasn't done bad,,Curtains and lining are perfect..On an old symphony i owned i had mildew on the lining,,used bleach to cure it,,

Re: Curtain hooks for a Duetto
Yes, bleach is usually my first port of call for mildew, but I was scared to try it in case it got onto the face of the curtains, which are dark blue. I’ve also fitted extra curtains between the cab and habitation area, and it feels much cosier :-)
