Habitation checks in South Wales
Hi,
We usually go back to Autosleepers in Broadway for Habitation checks and tie it in with a little break.
Just noticed a Groupon deal at Balmoral motorhomes at Pyle, Bridgend with 56% off. Sounds good but wondered if anyone had any experience of them. Is it worth the extra to go back to makers?? What do you think?
Any thoughts appreciated. (especially as now retired and money is more of an issue!!)

Their website says a Motorhome check is £149 so with 56% off it certainly looks a good deal. Factor in fuel cost to AS and it makes even more sense. Certainly worth serious consideration.

If it is to the NCC or similar check list, its a 3 hour check.
However there seems to be many variations of a Annual motorhome check list.
56% off is a unusual discount!
You can get a mobile one for about 150.
Some german motorhomes only need a damp test for warranty cover.
Regards
Micky

I too have used A/S at Willersey, but that was to sort some warranty issues as well.
i shall be taking mine this year to Caravan Master in Pontyclun. He fixed my Thetford fridge last year and gave excellent service. He mentioned a habitation service for (I'm sure he said) around £100. I'm taking my van to him tomorrow to sort out a leak in my siding door window. I will report back with actual price.

Doesn't the AS warranty have a requirement as to the qualifications of the habitation servicer? In other words, will the guarantee remain valid if the annual hab check is done by the Pontyclun chap? It would be so very convenient for me....

Yes it is the full habitation check (damp, electrics, gas, water etc etc) according to the website. Groupon often do eg 56% discounts - normal price is £149 but if you get it through groupon its £65. There are 4 days left to buy the offer and then it is valid to use for next 4 months.
(PS if you haven't used groupons before they are open to anyone and you just register and take the offer - I was bit sceptical but on researching a little site that I had already decided we were going to stay on found it had a groupon so instead of paying £18 a night we had 3 nights for £16 and no catches - its worth a look)
Anyway still thinking about this particular one.
Thanks HH

I've used plenty of Groupon deals. They've all been great. Go for it and keep us informed.
