Re: Interest Rates
That's made me laugh!!
I phoned the licencing people and they directed me to this form. Proof was easy as I had flight details to show I was away for 3 months. I guess a ferry booking would do.
When we returned home we just bought a new TV licence to run from that day.

Re: Interest Rates
Thanks for that.
After sharing my enthusiastic response with SWMBO she pointed out that:
a) We actually come back before the 12 weeks are up to stay within our household insurance requirements.
b) In 18 months she won't be buying a TV licence anyway due to us hitting the big "Seven-Five"!
Apart from marrying me SWMBO has always been lucky!
Best regards,
Dutto

Re: Interest Rates
Nice to see the Dutto avatar back on the forum again.
Anyway, back on the topic.
Which was.................
errrrrrrrrm..................
Oh yes.......interest rates.
I've just put a chunk of cash from Mother-in-Laws overflowing 123 into RCI easy access.
After Brexit, I reckoned the €100,000 guarantee was better than the £75,000 UK one.
Renault are offering 1.45%.....................!
Bit better than this side of la manche.
Derek

Re: Interest Rates
Thanks for mentioning that. If the rumours are true and 123 is set to become 1 1.5 2 (not such a catchy name IMO) then I may be bailing on Santander for RCI. The 2% top rate (if it actually happens that way) will obviously be better but, when you account for the monthly fee and having to operate a money-go-round (for those of us with no regular income), the RCI account could well be preferable. Not sure about the wisdom of providing finance for Renault to make loads more dreadful French cars though ;-)
