Hello to all you lucky Auto-Sleeper owners
Hi everyone from a chilly but sunny Huddersfield here in West Yorkshire.
Our current Motorhome is a 1999 Mercedes Sprinter Conversion which we have enjoyed for the past 5 yrs.with lots of travel around the UK and miles and miles of enjoyable travel each year around France.
While on our travels up in Cumbria last July/August we were fortunate to meet up with a lovely couple parked across from us in a what can only be described as the Perfect Motorhome for a retired Couple (The Auto-sleeper, Legend model) they welcomed us aboard for a coffee and a chat and from that moment on we were hooked on Auto-sleepers. Their particular model (Legend) ticked all the boxes for both myself and my partner (Gill) so much so that we promised ourselves to spend the winter 'storage months' scouring the websites for such a Motorhome that we could call our own, hence joining this owners forum.
Both Gill and I are both ex Liverpudlians (but cannot stop supporting 'our lads in Red at Anfield through good and bad) so as you can imagine we have that unique sense of humour that is passed down from generations of like minded funsters hailing from Merseyside.
Circumstances beyond our control brought us here to West Yorkshire, we were both divorced for a number of years and by chance we met on a Dating site in 2008 and clicked immediately.
We were introduced to the enchanting world of Motorhoming by a mutual friend who had been made redundant and simply had to sell their beloved Mercedes Sprinter which he had converted himself (and made a cracking job of it) and so we bought it and within weeks were touring around the Yorkshire Dales not knowing what the heck we were doing or how things worked etc. (sound familiar?) but being Scousers we knuckled down and got stuck in with the help of a lot of Red Vino (and a lorra, lorra laughter as Cilla would say. And so that's where we are up to and we look forward to viewing
items of interest on the Forum especially Motorhomes for sale. Cheers everyone and thanks for reading.

Hiya, Welcome to the forum from South Yorkshire. It sounds like you've done your research and settled on an excellent choice- any of the monocoque designs in the Autosleepers range take some beating, and the Transit base is a well proven engine/chassis. Just don't buy the first one you see, there are more out there, and many are in absolutely impeccable condition with relatively low mileages. Most will have been very well looked after, but there is the occasional rogue.
Good luck with your search, and when you find one don't forget that you can use it in winter too!

Hello and from Leicestershire, can recommend the Clubman with the VW base vehicle, like a tardis and economical to run, comfortable and great to drive. well I am biased.

Re: Hello to all you lucky Auto-Sleeper owners
Welcome to the forum.
Our Legend was purchased in October from a great couple in your neck of the woods....Huddersfield!
Not sure which generation of Legend you are looking for but we can recommend ours which is a 97 model.
Delighted with our choice and can't wait to get back on the road in the new year.
Very little choice when we were searching but I would recommend buying from private owner.....those who own one seem to hang on to them and look after them.
We will certainly be hanging onto ours!
Good luck with the search!

Welcome from New Zealand. Enjoyed reading about your history. Goog luck with finding a good Auto Sleeper. I have an early (1987) Legend on a Ford Transit. (31000 miles and immaculate).
Very rare down here, but but ticked most of the boxes.
All the best to you both for 2016.
