New Autosleeper range
We went to the show at the NEC on Thursday and had a look at the new range. What are they thinking? everything has gone purple, trim, decals, upholstery, the works. Any possible piece of upholstery has an oversized AS symbol on it (just in case you forget what you've spent your £60,000+ on presumably). Also no more rear lounges. I guess they know best.

Re: New Autosleeper range
? The brochure shows rear lounges for the Warwick Duo and XL and Fairford, and purple (berry?) being 1 option from 6 for upholstery. Out of date already?

Our caravan is a 2012 and has the berry/purple with the beige / greyish I thought this colour was old hat by now.

Re: New Autosleeper range
Perhaps AS got a job lot from the caravan manufacturers?

Re: New Autosleeper range
They may regret Purple, years ago when we were swopping one of the caravans the dealer said Oh its an 85, they bring less than the 84 or 86 due to the upholstry, purple is not popular. Fortunately ours turned out to be an 84 model with green so we got a better price. ABI obviously learned the lesson quick

No way Purple!
Now what you want is the Red they used early in the 2000.
Faded in the sun no end!
I concur green or blue in muted shades with light-ish woodwork,
matching removable floor covering preferably in Flotex,
and curtains/blinds for the front windows.
( know any good carpet fitters??)

Re: New Autosleeper range
Bailey did the purple theme some time ago in their motorhomes which was pretty awful. This is AS attempting to update their ageing colour scheme but still offer all the old out of date ones as well.
Auto Sleepers should lead not follow, why not offer something plain that owners can add their own colours to if necessary?

Re: New Autosleeper range
We always preferred the rear lounge which was why we had the Broadway EL Duo before we changed to the Warwick Duo which has the same end lounge.
I always thought the Broadway EL Duo was popular, seems a strange thing for AS to drop from the Broadway line up.

I must admit that I was disappointed in the darker coloured wood but loved the new ceiling lights and the sliding fly screen to the main door (which cannot be retrofitted unfortunately). However we old folk resist change but AS must keep their design department busy.

Re: New Autosleeper range
I've said it before but I still wish they would offer removable fitted covers. Seats covered with plain stockinnette ( or whatever lining fabric is used) and then you choose a set of fitted covers to go on top, which can be removed and washed or dry cleaned as necessary. All the bits of fabric on bulkheads etc could be a neutral shade and then you have a choice of fitted covers that tone with it. When you want to ring the changes you can go back to AS ( or wherever) and buy an different set.

Re: New Autosleeper range
Not sure about the purple but very sure about the plain upholstery which, in our opinion is so much better than the big patterns they've always used (and in such small spaces.)
I guess this really is one of those areas that's a matter of personal preference.
