Petrol gauge on 2007 Nuevo Empty Petrol gauge on 2007 Nuevo

Post by Fatima Sun Oct 18, 2015 12:11 am

Following a long journey my 2007 Nuevo (Peugeot Boxer) petrol gauge has started to flick to empty for a few seconds at a time then flick back to accurate position. Tank half full - and now completely full but continues to occur. I assume this is a faulty connection and not needing urgent repair. Anyone else had this problem??

Best bet if I were you is to get it to a Peugeot dealer and see if they can get a fault code reading, it could just be a bad connection somewhere or a more serious issue like the gauge etc

Maybe someone else here has experience of this situation or can advise more accurately?

I had this fault appear on my Vauxhall diesel car, more worryingly the speedo went to zero at the same time. It turned out to be a problem with the alternator. A new one cured it.

A lot of faults have been reported on other forums with Fiat instruments, but not heard of problems with the Peugeot versions. The Fiat ones seem to be poor soldering on the circuit boards behind the dials.
