WHAT ALARM FOR SYMBOL? Empty WHAT ALARM FOR SYMBOL?

Post by janniecop Wed Aug 26, 2015 12:07 pm

Hi
I believe the Symbol doesn't come with an Alarm, only an Immobiliser...is that correct?  anyone

If that IS the case what Alarm type/make would anyone suggest?

Is it better to be a Thatcham 1 category?

Anyone know where to get it fitted in Central Belt, Scotland?

thanks  John

Strikeback or Growler are considered the best. They are not modified car alarms, but are designed specifically for motorhomes. They are not cheap - but neither was your van so you may consider it worth spending the cash.

Don't know if they have a fitting agent anywhere near you, but they are always very helpful so a phone call will tell you.

Whatever alarm you get make sure it can disable interior sensors easily for when you are inside sleeping or leave a dog inside. The simplest ones are the ones that have a separate fob for the alarm and not one that uses your original vehicle fob. Some are so complicated to disable the sensors (like my Cobra, but that's because it uses original fob). I had a Sigma S30 (separate fob) on our Symphony and that was so easy. We simply locked the vehicle without setting the alarm at night. With the Cobra, because it uses the vehicle fob, you automatically set the alarm when you lock the vehicle by fob or central lock button and have to perform a complicated procedure to disable the sensors.

I have an Autowatch 695RLC alarm fitted to my Merc. Thatcham 2-1 category for Vans.

Integrates seamlessly with vehicle system, works on vehicle key.
