Re: Handbrake Mercedes
I You might be able to spray with something cannot say what as I don`t know enough which are suitable for most materials, WD40 comes to mind not if plastics are involved, just asked my husband, he said it depends whereabouts it is jammed, could be several things, someone else will be along who knows for sure.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Handbrake Mercedes
Glad you are now sorted.
I would never leave the van parked with the handbrake on for any period of time, always in park if an auto or in gear if not and if necessary with chocks. Leaving the handbrake on for long periods can cause damage to the discs and pads resulting in brake squeal at the least and at worst needing total replacement.

Re: Handbrake Mercedes
If you put your foot on the foot brake at the same time, this gives you a better chance of releasing the handbrake (takes the pressure off)

Re: Handbrake Mercedes
As said above don't leave hand brake on for too long a period as the metal in the hand brake shoes will rust and "Stick" to the brake drums quite often , the hand brake drums are incorporated in the rear brake discs, I have on many occasions had to remove the wheels and tap the inner part of the discs to release the hand brake and or riggle the hand brake cables.
