Nuevo habitation door window
Hi fellow Autosleepers,
We've a 2008 Nuevo. There's a window that opens in the habitation door and has a fly/night screen. Unfortunately there's no way (or so it seems) to keep the window open in breezy weather. The idea seems to be to open the window with the flyscreen up and then lock the door for security. Great theory but I can't see how it works.
Any ideas ??
Don

Re: Nuevo habitation door window
I think you are right Don. We never found a way of keeping it open.
At least you still have an opening window. The Hartal door on the new vans is better in several ways, but the skinny little window is fixed.
Sorry - no bright ideas from me!

Only way to fix is to put catches in the vent position. Moderately secure but not a lot of venting.

Re: Nuevo Habitation Door Window
Thanks for your prompt replies.
It does seem a bit silly to provide an opening window with flyscreen, but no way to secure the window in the open position.
Ah well, back to the bungee !!

On the Windsor we have a short piece of elastic with rubber suckers on each end. Not pretty but seems to work

Mine hasn't. Just black catches that I can't move. No buttons

Re: Nuevo habitation door window
The problem with an opening window in your door is that it makes breaking in easier. Force the window, reach through and undo the latch. Fixed window can still be broken to do the same but Mr Thief doesn't like the extra hassle.

Thanks Paul. Did wonder why I couldn't open it. Makes sense!

Re: Nuevo habitation door window
Think if a thief wanted to break in and the door had a fixed window they would simply force a window catch.
The fact that there appears to be no full size door fly screen available that fits then having a door with a large "hole" in it with fly screen built in makes a good second alternative for hot weather ventilation.
Ours stays in the open position when the door is opened or closed - whether that is the norm or luck - unless it is windy in which case it could do with some kind of latch.
