Warwick Duo Empty Warwick Duo

Post by Guest Thu Apr 16, 2015 2:16 pm

Recently changed from Broadway EL duo to a Warwick Duo and trying to work out correct tyre pressures.

I have looked at the Tyre Safe guide and the door pillar plate but still confused, any ideas please.

Thanks

It shows both but is the maximum allowed pressure 59psi front and 65psi rear.

I use 55psi front and 60 psi rear on the assumption that the fully loaded van weight is more than 10% less than the maximum permissible. I went to a local authority weighbridge a few years and they wanted £11 an axle or the same for the overall weight so I opted for the latter. I can't remember the exact weight but it was around 3200kg. Hence I run the tyres slightly lower then the recommended maximum. Not very scientific but it's ok for me.

The correct way the arrive at the right pressure is to get the axles individually weighed with a fully loaded van and ask the tyre manufacturer for their recommended pressures. I think that you'll be surprised with their recommendation.

Thanks for the info Nimbus I'll get down to the local weigh bridge and weigh it properly. The tyres are at 60psi all round and it feels a bit of a hard ride upfront.
