Hi
I don't know the spec of the Avtex but in a nutshell:
There are two types of digital terrestrial TV tuners used in the UK. The original DVB-T carried standard definition services (including Freeview).
Later DVB-T2 was introduced. It is a more efficient higher capacity system that allows Freview HD channels to be broadcast and allows space for the applications delivering the “data” channels you are seeing. Some data channels are text based and some are streaming video and so appear as normal TV channels (think a sort of live version of iPlayer).
Data channels use the Internet for part or all of their content. To receive them you need a DVB-T2 tuner and the TV connected to the Internet.
Even today most small screen TVs (even HD models) only have a DVB-T tuner and so only get Freeview in standard definition. On these receivers Freeview HD is only available via a set top box ( plugged in to an HDMI socket) and the box must be connected to the Internet to get the data services.

Hi
Crikey it’s got just about everything!
Unusual, and very handy to get terrestrial and satellite in one box. The only thing I can’t see listed is an Ethernet socket or WiFi for connection to the internet.
If you really want the data channels you could always get a suitable box and go in via one of the HDMI sockets. To my shame I have a cheap and nasty Tesco Freeview HD box (good job nobody reads this ). It does get the data channels but to be honest you’re not missing much (in my view).
