Nuevo Alternatives
I am wanting to buy a small coachbuilt motorhome to replace my van conversion. I have been searching for pre-facelift Nuevo models, which are slightly shorter. I like, and would prefer, the lowline Nuevo, but I don't like the two long, heavy, bench seats, creating a corridor. I prefer the seating arrangement layout of the overcab Nuevo, with the bench on one side and a dinette on the other side.
Does anyone know if a Nuevo has been produced with the lowline roof, and the dinette seating. If it hasn't been produced, why not? The market appeal must be there.

Re: Nuevo Alternatives
It is possible if you look long enough to find the configuration you want AS would have built special for the original buyer
AS are flexible when building new

Re: Nuevo Alternatives
The overcab Nuevo (called the ES) actually comes as dinette each side, each side converts to a bench, making two single beds or a double across. As it's a four-berth sleeper (overcab only suitable for children), it's made with four travel seats.

Nuevo Alternatives
HI.
We have just changed from a Duetto to a Nuevo es. We are limited by storage space and the Nuevo is only 1" longer and 2" wider than the Duetto. It was like moving from a bed-sit to a proper house. No more changing the layout to go to bed and putting everything back again in the morning. I sleep upstairs and my wife and the dog sleep downstairs. The dinette bit stays put, so I can get up in the morning make a cuppa and take the dog out without disturbing you know who. The shower/bathroom is much more usable.

You don't mention your budget but in answer to your question: "Does anyone know if a Nuevo has been produced with the lowline roof, and the dinette seating. If it hasn't been produced, why not? The market appeal must be there."
That seems to be what is in production at the moment, with the "dinette option".

Re: Nuevo Alternatives
We have (sort of) done the same thing. We traded our VW Topaz for a Merc Stanton (a Duetto EK on a Merc chassis). Whilst we do not have the upstairs bit, the amount of storage available in a not much larger vehicle than the VW is pretty amazing, at least to us. I've seen owners of much larger barges describing the storage in the Duetto as miniscule but if you want to go to out of the way places it is more than enough, unless you want to carry a satellite dish/washing-dryer/bird feeder on tripods and all those other "necessities".jeffg wrote:HI.
