I have just sent an e-mail to Spinneys.
See what the reply is for a possible new purchaser.

Hi CC, Further to the layout .When we bought our first van we picked the end kitchen layout.
The reason was, we thought we would like all passengers and seating together.
Maybe others do as well?
Regards

Re: Motorhome Dealers & Trade In Prices
Well I give up, I have a 2003 Anniversary Clubman with 12,770 genuine miles on the clock with a VW 2.5tdi 102 engine ,in excellent condition, have it on an agreed value,
It has new winter tyres two weeks ago, new exhaust, twin cameras, cam belt and all that goes with that .
I was interested in a Gatcombe that had the 3rd seat belt and the dining area, bearing in mind this is a 2001 model, so is 2 years older than mine with over 55,000 on the clock, dealer said it had been reupholstered.
I was offered £15,000 for mine by the dealer, when I said no, he wouldn`t budge, no way I will keep mine.He would make thousands on mine as well as on the Gatcombe. I wouldn`t buy it now if I sold mine privately, I bought my Topaz privately would buy that way again if I could find one.
Like many have said dealers grrr......

Daisy Mae asked..
Has anyone had any dealings with E. S. Hartley Motor Homes ?
Google the name and there are a couple of review entries, one on UKCampsites forum but worst of all is this...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I notice that they have just joined this forum with a listing in the 'Traders, for sale' section. They also have a branch at Ellesmere Port which for some reason rarely gets mentioned.

Re: Motorhome Dealers & Trade In Prices
Hi I spoke to a dealer at the Lincoln show. He had reduced a van by 8,000. Told me he would only make a small profit.
So i expect 10,000 between buy and sell, going down to 4,000 for us old ones.
Of course what you buy on exchange can have a large effect on your price.
I think he said he only needs to sell one a week.
Nice business for some.
Regards
Mike

That was the other one I was referring to Mike... Guess what, rang them earlier and they are saying it sold today! Spoke to them yesterday evening and they were calling us back to discuss, no phone call so called them only to hear it sold today Begining to wonder if dealers are reading comments on this forum now
They've had that Broadway bloody months as did AEG yet since selling our Nuevo and within 24 hrs both have mysteriously and miracously sold within that time

Don't worry CC, we'll find a van for you, not all dealerships advertise on the Trader or the Bay, lots of private sales come up on the caravan clubs classified site, so its worth checking daily if your hunting a particular type of van.

Thanks Boaby
Looking at a Broadway EL over the weekend, also got a Suffolk EL to look at which is a year older but on the Merc cab which is what I'd have preferred ideally, but will see how we get on and which feels best.
Cant believe how difficult it is to find End Lounge Broadway or Suffolk models, does anyone know what kind of numbers AutoSleeper produced of these motorhomes pre 2012?

Hi CC, I don't believe in conspiracy theory's .
They are sought after vans like many A/S models.
Lots of vans sell before they appear in an advert.
I bought mine the day it came in to the dealer.

Re: Motorhome Dealers & Trade In Prices
I would think that these two models would be built bespoke for a customer, my 09 Nuevo was a ltd ed 3/20 built for one of the ASOC members, it had a lot of extras.
I believe you may be able to retro fit a Truma gas fire if you so desire.
Good luck with your search.

Re: Motorhome Dealers & Trade In Prices
Just a quick update...
We are no longer "looking" as yesterday we secured a 2010 Broadway EL Duo at Marquis Northants... Glad the previous deals fell through as this vehicle has a better feel about it than all the others we've viewed or enquired about, just 4,000 miles on the clock and the customer experience at Marquis so far has been pretty impressive (will keep you updated)

Well done, worth it in the end. Enjoy.
I bought my Anniversary Clubman before it was advertised, due to having my name on dealers wanted lists.

Hi CC
Delighted for you both, we purchased our 09 Nuevo from Marquis Northants, we received excellent service from all departments and would go back there in the future.
We stopped over at the aquadrome across the road for a few days and enjoyed the local scenery and dog walks.
Hope to see you in your new van.

Dealers are dealers , doing very little than selling items for more than they paid for them , it's capitalism.

Re: Motorhome Dealers & Trade In Prices
Glad you have a happy ending!
Our van is much older than yours, a W reg Legend, but it also has the end lounge. We love this lay-out. It is great for entertaining (choice of large or small tables) and is also good for lounging around, feet up and a comfortable backrest, glass in hand, reading or watching TV on wet evenings.
We bought it privately, and had the advantage of dealing with honest people selling a van they loved and had cared about, able to explain all its little intricancies...something not experienced when buying previous vans from dealers, who only cared about getting the cash and running!
Enjoy yiour new van!

Re: Motorhome Dealers & Trade In Prices
Dealers have a nice wee trick they often use they list a nicely specced motorhome at a good price if you drive to see the van its the old sorry it is sold but there are plenty of nice vans you can look at while you are here.If you check there site weeks later the original van is still listed there are at least two on e.bay currently which are not available for sale so you have been warned.
