Hi, thanks for the welcome. To think people pay money just to visit this wonderful island and I am here full time on a permanent holiday. Been here 4 years and still not seen it all. hope to change that with my "new" van. Regards Watchkeeper

Message to Paulmold and anyone else who may be visiting the Isle of Wight. If you have not been before mid week and very early morning ferries can be a lot cheaper.

Hi Watchkeeper (Needles Lookout?). Welcome to the forum. The Island contingent is growing in numbers, I expect we will all pass each other in due course. Don't forget to wave  wave

Hi Watchkeeper, Just a guess, we haven't met.  I was a watchkeeper at different stages in my RN career. Saw an article in the local rag about the lookout up on Needles and put the two together

Hi Mick, good guess. The Needles NCI has been in operation for Two years as of the 4th of August. We have 43 volunteers and need more. So if you know anyone who wants to volunteer or any other Isle of Wight residents fancy spending 4 hours twice a month looking out to sea from the best advantage point on the island let me know.

Hi Don, you are right about the views. Regarding volunteers - will keep an eye out (excuse the pun)
