External gas valve
Can anyone help with this please. I have just bought a gas BBQ to use with my A/S and I am not sure what connection I need to attach the hose to the external valve on the Burford.

Re: External gas valve
My Bourton was supplied with a connector from new it was in a small plastic bag in the drawer under the wardrobe, you may have placed yours somewhere for safekeeping, it is a straight brass unit about 2" long, one end to attach to your gas hose and the other end which is a push fit into the valve and to remove just draw back the collet on the valve and the connector can be withdrawn.

Re: External gas valve
Ditto with my Warwick Duo. The purpose of the connector is to stop naughty people drawing gas off from your vehicle when you are not there.

Re: External gas valve
Thanks for your replies. I have been told by Motor Plus at Derby that A/S no longer supply these so that explains why I cant find one !! If you happen to know the technical name for this connector please let me know and I will try and get one locally next week. It may be quicker than getting one from A/S.

Re: External gas valve
Thanks for that John, but it is the 'female' connector i need to attach the hose TO the motorhome external point. I am sure I can find it from your info. Re: External gas valve
John, on my Bourton it is a male connector that the hose fits on to, and then pushes into the female connector on the van the same type as artheytrate has posted in his link.

Re: External gas valve
Our Broadway did - new in May. It was in the same bag as the spare external locker lock barrels. Ask your dealer if he forgot to put it in on handover. These small items are usually taken out to avoid their being stolen when the van is on display.

Re: External gas valve
John, the valve that is fitted to my Burford is 'male', so the one I need to fit on the hose must be 'female'. I didn't get the barrels either !!artheytrate wrote:Quilter wrote:Our Broadway did - new in May. It was in the same bag as the spare external locker lock barrels. Re: External gas valve
If your fitting is a male connection won't the hose go straight on with a jubilee clip, doe's it have a collet fitted which you can push back and release the male fitting to fit a hose on.jht sheffield wrote:John, the valve that is fitted to my Burford is 'male', so the one I need to fit on the hose must be 'female'. Re: External gas valve
John,
I don't mean for this question to sound stupid but are you sure that the male connector is not already in place in the female and just needs removing by raising the collet up on the female, to be honest if mine would have been in place when I got mine I would not have realised.

Re: External gas valve
Thank you all for your help. It seems that I was totally wrong in thinking that the valve on my Burford was 'male'. It just looked as though the hose valve would connect over it and not into it. ( Better stop now ) !!
Motor Plus are posting me the correct part today.
