Re: Daytime Running Lights
Hi,yes can confirm these lights were fitted as part of the Premium pack by Auto Sleepers and were wired into the 12v circuit for the refrigerator etc so only work with the engine running, after the problems with ours Auto Sleepers Service. Centre have now rewired them to work off of the ignition switch,so on turning the ignition on they are working without the engine running, suggest you talk to Mark at the Service Centre. All the. Best....so not a Peugeot problem.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
Had the van in at Marquis today to have the DRL's fixed and they have replaced both sides with new units as the originals were quote 'cheap parts'.
Auto Sleepers reluctantly agreed to do under warranty although 2 days after the warranty finished.
Van has to go in again to have the thermocouple replaced on the oven grill (another warranty claim). Seem to spend more time at Marquis than out in the van!

Hi
Our 2012 plated has a similar drl's problem.
I've been quoted £175 for a replacement set from AS so they sound the same. They wouldn't tell me the name of the company who supply them.
I'm wondering if anyone has found the same ones, 5 on a straight strip, anywhere cheaper.
unfortunately I don't know the make.
I have looked on the internet but can't find the same ones.
Thanks
V

Re: Daytime Running Lights
If you have the same problem we had - both lights reduce from 5 to 2 LED's after a while - then this can be fixed by a wiring change. Very simple fix I was told, just that getting the bumper off is not so easy. Should not be a need to change the lights.
BTW typical lifetime for LED's is in the tens of thousands hours which might be a MILLION miles of daytime driving. So if your LED "fails", look for a wiring or connector fault first.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
Obviously this response will not be in time for the previous post but may be of use to others.
The near side DRLs on my 2015 Broadway extinguish when the headlights are turned on and come back on when the headlights are extinguished.
I returned home today from the local Peugeot dealers with the problem still not fixed as, following their checks, I was informed that the DRLs are an after market fit by Auto-Sleepers, and as such are AS responsibility to fix.
I now have to persuade Marquis that this is the case which will be a problem as they don't seem to be able to rectify several other electrical problems in the habitation area of the van which have not worked correctly since we took delivery earlier this year!
I will never hand over a trade in vehicle again before being completely satisfied that a full PDI has been carried out.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
I fitted aftermarket Hella DRL's to my Nuevo and had them professionally wired in by a local auto electricians. They come on when the ignition is switched on and go out when the headlights are switched on. This is how they should operate.
Also I have never had a problem with them unlike the ones fitted by A/S.

Are you sure about this Moggy? On our Warwick Duo, the DRL only come on when the engine is running, not when the ignition is switched on (they rely on sensing the B+ output from the alternator).
Do your aftermarket DRL operate differently?

Re: Daytime Running Lights
Just to clarify my earlier post, both my DLRs light turn on when the engine is turned on and the nearside one extinguishes when the headlights are switched on.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
According to the AA drl's should go off when headlights are on, so why do so many new cars drive with both on?Spospe wrote:moggyminor1966 wrote: They come on when the ignition is switched on and go out when the headlights are switched on.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
I seem to recall that there is an exemption if the DRLs automatically dim when the headlights are on (so that they are approximately the same brightness as sidelights, which ~are~ allowed to stay on when the headlights are on) but I don't recall seeing that in any of the official regs...
But agreed - it sounds as though it's ScribesWtr's offside DRL that is faulty, not the nearside one!

Re: Daytime Running Lights
looking at that AA link it states all new (with exceptions) cars & small vans have to have them fitted. Why aren't they fitted to A/S Pug coachbuilts unless you opt for the premium pack?

The current Base Vehicle Specification for the two current Peugeot coachbuilts I just looked at have "LED Daytime Running Lights" as standard, so it's probably just an error, and they have probably just forgotten to remove the second entry under Premium Pack.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
Not all new vehicles have to have them. Only when a new design is registered for 'type approval' do they have to be fitted .That doesn't just mean a facelift.

Just checked and they do indeed come on when the ignition is switched on.Spospe wrote:moggyminor1966 wrote: They come on when the ignition is switched on and go out when the headlights are switched on.
