Boxer Engine question Empty Boxer Engine question

Post by david last Mon May 26, 2014 5:22 pm

Hello, I am a newcomer to this excellent forum. I have recently acquired a early 2006 Symbol and I am well pleased but I have little experience of Peugeot motors. It is a 2.2 HDI Diesel and my question is does it have a DPF and a catalytic converter? confused3
Thanks
David

I may be wrong but I believe it will have a cat but not a dpf. I have the same engine in my Nuevo.

If it is a 2006 model it will not have a DPF (these only came out with the Euro 5 engine last year).

If your vehicle is 2006, is it the current X250 van, or the earlier X244? If it is the earlier version it may well not have a cat, but all the X250's have them. A quick wriggle underneath will soon tell you.

Hello, I am sorry I can't tell you if it is an X250 or X244 how can I tell?
It is registered as a Boxer 290 LX MWB HDI with the Symbol conversion.
I think I might recognise a Cat, so when it is not so wet I will look underneath as you suggest. I guess it would have four legs and a tail and singed fur. smile!
Thanks

The x250 is the current shape which started in 2006. Thex244 is the previous shape from 1994 to 2006.
