Hi.  wave

I was composing while Dutto was posting (but he's absolutely right) so some repetition here.

Err NO! hugegrins
Contrary to popular belief fans do not provide cooling (if you don’t believe that try holding a thermometer in the airflow before and after a fan. They can reduce the temperature if they are moving air from a cool(er) place and pumping it into a warm(er) place. In the closed system of the van where the air is pumped from inside the van back into the van there will be no cooling effect whatsoever. In fact there is likely to be a small heating effect due to the rise in temperature of the fan motor itself!

The switching of the habitation electrics is a safety feature.  The manufacturer can’t, and the user shouldn’t over ride a safety feature because it would be convenient if it didn’t exist.

As discussed earlier vans made before the regulation came into effect are except.  Later vans with fully EMC compliant electrics would also be allowed to run. Since I’ve never owned anything more exotic than a 90s vehicle I don’t know what's fitted in later vans but if it is in use while the vehcle is running it would have to be EMC complient.

Dutto and brodco are  technically correct re fans and actual air temp BUT the reason fans are used for cooling all over the world is that moving air assists the body's sweat to evaporate more efficiently and cool the skin.  up!
Yes, Dutto, agree could open the door But hugegrins

Yes but:

The context of the discussion was that of using the fan like a type of aircon and cooling the back of the van down which I’m sure you’ll agree it won’t.
The other thing is that even to cool the body you would need to be in the airflow. In the Duetto the air comes out of a duct three or four inches in diameter and a few inches off the floor so it’s useless as a cooling device.

I suppose you could lay on the floor with your head in front of it! (preferably not while driving though). hugegrins
