Mould spots on ceiling
Today I have found mould spots on ceiling of autosleeper. Have checked it every few weeks since it has been laid up since November and this is the first time I have seen mould. Does anyone have ideas how to clean/prevent again.
Many thanks and looking forward to taking to the road again soon

Re: Mould spots on ceiling
Hi there,
Sorry to hear that.
This is the site you need:
http://home.howstuffworks.com/how-to-remove-mildew-stains.htm
Just click on the right fabric.
The next thing to do is to prevent recurrence.
Although mould is caused by damp I cannot recommend using a dehumidifier because if the van is ventilated properly you will be trying to dry out the neighbourhood.
The easiest way to prevent dampness is to ensure good ventilation and put in a small heater.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Re: Mould spots on ceiling
I used to have a Mazda Bongo before I bought my Nuevo.I noticed that it had some mould spots on the roof canvas, so I added a few few drops of "oil of cloves" (any chemist) in a pint of warm water and sprayed the mould spots with it....this will shift the mould and KILL the spores. The smell of cloves will soon go away. After this I then used Dettol Mould & Mildew Remover.Until I sold my Bongo there was not a trace of any mould .Hope this helps

A mild solution of hot water and bleach will remove and kill the spores then do Dutto's tip
