Sealant around windows etc.
Hello Fellas I am looking for a sealant similar to the original on the Rienza. It is smooth, creamy colour and does not easily attract the green stuff. I have tried silicon sealant and one supplied by a caravan shop, neither work very well. They tend to set rough and too soft, dont look particularly nice and attract the moss easily. On my last van, because of a roof leak at some time, someone had plastered a fair amount of grey sealant on top. This looked awful if you were up there, but was of a smooth plasticy constituency and although the algae settled all around it, it couldnt actually stick its feet on it. Does anyone know of the best stuff for the job please. Jerico

Hi there,
This company makes the finest sealants on the market:
http://www.sika.com/en/solutions_products.html
Go > Solutions/Projects > Automotive Aftermarket > then search.
Alternatively:
Go > Solutions/Projects > Joint Sealing > then search.
Only one tip. When you find what you think you are looking for map sure that it is not for "professional" use as some of the products require stringent preparation or application criteria and other are very difficult to remove if you get it wrong!!
When you find what you need Google the specific description to find a supplier.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Silicon sealer is a big "no no". Sikaflex is the sealant of choice but the surface must be treated first and its too cold at the moment.

Thank you fellas for your replies. It seems Sikaflex 512 is the one for the job. Might have to wait till next week for
it to be sunny and warm. thanks again Jerico
