I have a Burford Duo being built at the moment, my wife and myself will be coming over in May to pick it up and travel round your country for three months, we have never been to Great Britain before and would appreciate some advice re a plan of attack, we have been motor owners in our country for a number of years, looking forward to our new adventure.  smile!

Are you planning to export it back to NZ when you finish your tour?

Hi There and a big big welcome to the forum.
Trying to remember the names of some people we met from Oz who came over here, bought a motor home, toured UK for a few months, sold it and went home. If and when I can remember them they had a good itinerary.

I am sure though someone on here will come up with something good and some free guides for camp sites etc.

What sort of sites do you like? as in full service or field tap and pit? or a variety? Also what things in the UK do you already have on your wish list to visit/see.

All the best

John

Hello Harty & Welcome.

We have a connection with New Zealand as one of our sons lives in Browns Bay.
So we have been over there quite a few times now and have travelled around in motorhomes throughout the whole Country.

Looking forward to your arrival here, as you are going to surely bring some warm sunny weather to us  allthumbz

Any assistance we can give, please feel free to ask away!

Peter & Jean

Hi there,

My first stop would be ALL of the comparison sites such as:

o  Go Compare

o  Compare The Market

o  Money Supermarket

etc etc etc.

In the UK you can't vote if you don't have a house address (boats and caravans don't count) so maybe the answer is to have a "permanent address" in the UK somewhere in the country with a minuscule crime rate.

If all else fails, I suggest that you try a Lloyds Broker via:

http://www.lloyds.com/the-market/directories/brokers

These are the men that insure models legs, singers voices etc.  They will charge an arm and a leg but I don't think they will be scared off by a septuagenarian Kiwi with a big motorhome.

Hope this helps.  allthumbz

Best regards,
 drinksallround
