Hello from Richard & Lynn
Hi there,
After months of deliberation and research, and a most useful visit to the Motorhome Show at Shepton Mallet this year, we have decided to purchase a Nuevo Low Line EK which has an ample specification for the two of us. However reading through some of the horror stories here from owners (many from new) who seem to have had an appalling experience we are becoming concerned. Now we know that those who have a complaint shout loudest and those who are content tend to remain silent but surely there is no smoke without fire?
Our budget will probably allow us to purchase a motor home that is about 7 to 10 years old, and as we do not see too many advertised as private sales, we will probably be buying from a dealership. The relationship between customers and dealers seems to be rather strained judging by some of the posts. The gentleman we met at the show was from Cotswold Motor homes and he seemed totally genuine and knowledgeable to us.
We would appreciate any comments from experienced motor homers to help allay our fears.
All the Best Richard & Lynne

Welcome from N.E Wales
The person from Cotswold you mention will be Frank. We swopped our Symphony for a Nuevo ES with him and collected it on October 1st. When we collected it Frank pointed out that on the MOT an advisory showed both rear tyres were showing signs of cracking. His local tyre depot did not have these particular tyres in stock so he wanted us to go and get two replaced local to us and he would re-imburse us. That's exactly what we did and true to his word, a cheque came to us by return of post (these tyres are not cheap at £140 each). His handover was very thorough and he also kept the van for us for 6 weeks while we waited for some inheritance to come. So yes he has been a decent and honest dealer (so far) although it's still early days.
He only offers 3 months warranty but it is unconditional (not an insurance backed warranty) and at this time of year he extended it to 6 months as we are not likely to use it a great deal in 3 months which again I think is very fair.

If you are buying a pre owned van of that vintage its likely any issues that it "may" have had will be sorted, and with luck a few decent upgrades done ( ie:led light conversions )
Cotswold have a very good reputation for supply of vans and customer care and its principal respected within the industry
Most Important -The Nuevo, best choice of van in its size range

Hi and welcome to the forum
As you say, people with problems grumble about it and people without say nothing so you get the impression that there are loads of faulty vans when perhaps there is only a small percentage with faults. There again, some people will put up with little niggles and some will moan to high heaven about the same thing.

Re: Hello from Richard & Lynn
Many thanks to all of you who have welcomed us onto ASOF. The hunt for our dream motor-home starts in earnest in the New Year (unless Santa manages to ram one down the chimney) so wish us luck and we look forward to meeting up with some of you on the road one day. The consumption of wine will be compulsory.....................
