TOPAZ Curtains
Hi All.
I have seen curtains in the cab area on a private sale, for a 2007 TOPAZ, located in the Anglesey area.
I suspect these were fitted retrospectively.
As yet I have not enquired of Auto-Sleeper.
Curtains could be very usefull for short stops during the warmer months though I would use Silverscreens when frost is about and for extended rallies etc.
What do the Topaz users in the club think?
Regards
frederic

A/S service centre will retrofit fit front curtains and rails to a T5, (approx £200 ish). They wont do much for stopping condensation, compared to silver screens, but they will give a cosy feel to a van.

We have curtains in the cab area. They don't replace silver screens but do make it less draughty and more cosy.

Mine had cab curtains when I bought it, thought they were standard.

I always thought curtains in a motorhome/camper cab were standard as well. I certainly would not pay £200. You could fit curtains and track for a fraction of that.

Re: TOPAZ Curtains
As the first actual owner of a 2007 Topaz (rather than some other sort of van) to respond... ours has no curtains, or need of them, and there are no draughts, even if there were, I don't see how curtains would stop help.

Regarding the 2007 model "What do the Topaz users in the club think?"
Mine happens to bee 2007 too, we have spent 14 weeks in it so far this year, so I have an informed opinion.
I could speculate, should anyone ask, about Talismans, T4 Topaz's, and just about anything else made by Auto Sleeper but why would I? I have not owned those things, so how would my uninformed opinion be valid?

Keep info coming.
Hi All.
We now have the Topaz great except for the inside sucker on Front & Side cab screens!!
Silverscreens seem to be a must.
Are are the Silverscreens 'SolarFrost' Park UP screens available for the T5?
We had both types for the T4

Re: TOPAZ Curtains
Frederic,
Congratulations on your purchase! You need to figure out where you will fit the rolled-up Silverscreen; storage space is at an absolute premium with the Topaz.
In our over-cab locker we manage to fit: the three bed cushions (two wedges and the "bridge"), the three internal silver screens and two folding chairs, leaving just a little space at one side. Note: we do not use the large table, it is just too large to move around in the van and it takes up too much storage in that locker.
We use the small table, which fits in the wardrobe (difficult to remove when clothes are in there)! Also we have a roll-up alluminium slat table for use outside; this fits in the wardrobe, along with a drive-away awning and a sun-shade awning.
Enjoy your van.
Pete.

Re: TOPAZ Curtains
We have an '07 Topaz as well. No curtains but we do use our silver screen all year round. Cuts out not only the condensation but the light as well so no being woken by bright sunshine at 6:00 am and it helped to keep the van cool when the temperature was high this summer. Ours roll nicely into the bag and we stuff it into the rear corner of the wardrobe along with the dirty washing bag. We use the bigger table as found the small one too tiny for two plates etc, and it was a pain having to move all the stuff in the wardrobe to get to it. As for the rest of the storage, two sleeping bag, sheet and a couple of Really Useful boxes (for underwear and tops) in the overhead, two pillows stuffed in the little cubbyhole over the wardrobe, dog stuff in the wire basket under the third passenger seat, leveling blocks and awning pegs plus Remoska and pans in cupboard under the grill. Two folding chairs lie behind the drivers seat and we leave a couple of big cushions and an 'emergency' blanket on the bench seat. The awning, step, folding table and hook-up cable travel on the bathroom floor - just have to make sure we go before we go if you get what I mean.
Once on site and only if we are there for two nights or more, the awning goes up, table, chairs, silver screen bag, dirty shoes etc live in there.

Any chance you could post a photo of the screen fitted and it its container?frederic wrote:Silverscreens ordered yesterday here today!!

Last week we had an enormous amount of condensation one night, when using the three internal screens. There was an exceptionally heavy dew and, as we intend to use the van well into Winter, I expect a repeat performance soon!

Re: TOPAZ Curtains
No photo Pete but the screen takes up no more room than the internal ones and is slightly more 'squishy' so you can stuff it in the wardrobe. It solved our condensation problem.Pete Taylor wrote:Any chance you could post a photo of the screen fitted and it its container?frederic wrote:Silverscreens ordered yesterday here today!!

Re: TOPAZ Curtains
Update: we have used the external Paragon screen several nights now when, with the internal stick-ons we would have been awash with condensation- with the new screen... not a drop! Also no horrid rings to try to wipe off where the suckers were.
The screen indeed does pack away better than the internal ones too.
Cheers,
Pete.

Further UPdate
We have just seen the stores gentleman at AutoSleepers who said he had available all the bits for 'one' to create a set of curtains (track, heading, tape runners etc) then you would have the curtains of your choice!
We have used our screens for well a couple of weeks now and are getting quite skilled at removing them in all conditions!!
Curtains would be usefull for an overnighter though.
