In Kelso Empty In Kelso

Post by Wingrider8368 Sun Sep 01, 2013 10:02 am

Bank holiday weekend in Kelso, Scotland at the Goldwing Treffen (rally) I met the owners of two VWT4 Clubmen GLs. Neither of which were members of this forum, so I recommended that they put that right asap. As an aside, having looked over their motor homes, my wife and I think that one of those might suit us better than the Symbol we thinking about getting (eventually). We looked all over them, talked at length about the pros and cons but never thought to get into the driving seat to see how they fitted our bodies confused3
If there is anyone near Norwich, Norfolk with one we could sit in sometime, we would be grateful allthumbz

Very important! I am blessed with a long body and short legs, before we got our first van (Trafic) I tried out loads of driving seats and found that all VWs I tried, I could not see straight through the windscreen without the surround getting into my line of sight, in some, my head was touching the headlining and one model had lockers around the cab, the bottoms of which were the perfect height for breaking my skull in a shunt.

Hi Boxerman,
Yes I wished I had thought of it while I had the chance to do it easily.  I am 'blessed' with little leg but my wife, while not being that much taller than me, has longer legs, so a test sit has become more important than ever.
Hopefully the chance will come sooner rather than later
