hello modelman,
thank  you for your reply
I wonder if you could help me please

I have a talisman gl 1993
could you tell me how to use the water heater on gas??
tried it this week end to no avail.
have tried to do it from the manual(as such) that come with the van
we have only had it for 2 weeks, but have had motorhomes for 20years almost.
but never an auto sleeper.
I would appreciate your help if you could
kind regards

On MY Talisman, the water heater is under the offside front seat, just behind the driver, the outlet vent is the square housing just behind the drivers door (outside)

BUT, I have a feeling yours is a separate heater unit fixed to the washroom wall, just above the cooker??  If so, then I'm afraid I know nothing about these, but there's bound to be others here who WILL know.

Regards

Do you mean the Vaillant heater? if so they are gas only and Glynis mentioned in another post that hers would work on electric but not gas.
I suspect it's a Carver but I don't know where the control box is on a Talisman.

Ok, so it sounds like the Carver, if so, make sure the heater is full of water, gas is on, 12v is on, run the taps for a few seconds to clear any air, then push the 'I' button, the heater should try & ignite & if it does, then after a few seconds the green LED will light, if the red one lights, then the ign has failed, try a few times as the gas may need to purge through if it hasn't run for a while.

The control is the square beige panel with 2 push-buttons, 'O' is off & 'I' is on, so when it IS running, to switch off, simply push the 'O' smile!
