Under Sink mod for Nuevo Classic
We thought the area under the sink of our 2008 Nuevo Classic needed to be improved and make life easier. We decided to put drawers in the space and took a look in IKEA. In the nursery section we found an open cupboard with various sizes of plastic box drawers and you could purchase the drawers separately which gave us the idea of fitting them in our problem area.
The area was separated into two with a piece of MDF wood one side would hold one small and one large box drawer and the other side would hold three small box drawers.
I used aluminium channel for runners screwed and glued to batons these were fixed to the sides of the cupboard after marking out the correct measurements to take the boxes
The batons enabled the boxes to clear the cupboard doors when they are being pulled out. The centre runners were glued and screwed onto the MDF board to correspond with the height of the ones fixed onto the sides of the cupboards.
Once they were all in place I secured the centre piece of MDF with wooden batons, the top ones screwed into place and the bottom ones just glued. This seems to be ok although we have not been away in it yet since I've done it, but we've loaded them up with the stuff out of the old boxes and all seems to be well.
Material List : -
1 large box - No 956-851-00
4 small boxes - No 800-892-39 from IKEA
2 Aluminium channel 15mm x15mm 15mm x1.5thk
All wood/MDF, no nails glue and screws plus above channel from B & Q (bought on Wednesday with 10% off)
Costings
Plastic drawer boxes £9.00
2 aluminium channels £22.52
Assorted screws £4.22
Wood and MDF £24.32
No nails glue £5.98

Hi Brian,
For the benefit of anybody else who wants to modify their kitchen, here is a photo of my version, which I suspect gave you the idea of improving yours, obviously different people will have there own ideas on this but I am not a fan of cupboards in motorhomes which often mean crawling on the floor to reach the back of the cupboard, drawers are much more connvenient.

Hi All,
I forgot to mention that my version uses the drawer runners from an old office desk but if you dont have such a thing B&Q sell them in various lengths. the pan lid retainers are simply lengths of curtain wire. you may also notice that the doors are now a bifold rather than 2 seperate doors, if you do anything like this dont forget to mount the kettle and teapot at the front for extra convenience.

Only up to 2011. Models made in 2012 and later have 4 drawers on the left and a cutlery drawer plus a cupboard on the right.murph wrote:you may also notice that the doors are now a bifold rather than 2 seperate doors,
