Speaker in VW T4 Topaz door pocket?

I don't want a new door pocket because it won't exactly match the rest of the door trim. Can I put a speaker in this pocket?

The answer is yes. You will have to remove the complete trim panel and then remove the pocket.
The later VW door pockets take a 6" speaker, but this may be too large for yours. When the pocket is off just measure up what will fit . You should be able to get at least a 4" speaker in.

Incidentally the vw door pockets with the speaker housing are getting really difficult to locate, I think they are no longer in manufacture and it's just any new old stock  left at the dealers.
