Does anybody else feel the same way I do? I know there obviously has to be a cut off point for vintage vehicles and I'm not looking for free tax - BUT it seems an awfully long time to wait for the neo classics to age enough to gain some street cred at the rallies and such.

The garages certainly behave as if they are classics already i.e. It's HOW old?/They haven't made bits for THAT for years/Take that THING off my forecourt!!!! To quote but a few responses when I first got my Talbot Harmony.

Bits certainly drop off just like a classic and it goes at the same speed. It's like that TV thing 'Waiting for God'. Worn out but not in the Knackers yard yet.

So excuse my ignorance but does the classic date change as time marches on, or is everything after 1984 or whatever the classic cut off date is. destined to be always classed as just 'old'?

If you see me mine is the one with the equally old bird driving it. broomstick

MMM magazine always has a 'classic page'. To be included in that, vehicles have to be 15 years old. My Symphony is a 1997, 14 years old but I don't feel ready to join the 'classics'. To me it doesn't look classic or drive classic so I don't know at what point a motorhome becomes a classic.

- I'd never noticed that in MMM. Will have a look next time - thank you. I know what you mean about your van. That type of base and the couple of years makes a huge difference.

Mine drives like a bathtub and looks like a tank. The weird thing is, I love driving it far more than the car.

Must be some sort of masochist.
