Hello everyone
Hi all - my husband and I came across your site during our many hours of trawling the internet looking for a used high top. Taking us hours and so many are a very long way - a bit of a risk to drive for hours only to find it's a dud (we've already seen a few yucky ones)!! Hopefully we may come across something in your classifieds and will probably put a 'wanted' ad on the site. Having a motorhome has been a dream for ages and we have decided to do it now - just in case 'the future' never arrives!!
Looks like your site will be a great help in our search and in the future when we are on the road.
Bye for now, many thanks
Denise

Hi Denise and Colin, Welcome to the forum
We trawled through loads of vans when we were looking for our first one. "Good condition" seems to be a subjective term when advertising campervans, doesn't it?
You should get plenty of good advice on here, is there a particular model you are looking for?
Frank

Re: Hello everyone
Ahh thanks so much all . What a lovely welcome. We are off to see a duetto tomorrow following a slightly cheeky request to a big dealership about part ex auto sleepers. Caled in on Sunday and all their stuff way above their budget. They rang me today to say someone has p/ex'd one and do we want to see it before they ship it off to a second hand dealer. Fingers crossed. It's a 1995, 31,000 miles and just under 12k. Any ideas or advice welcome. Many apologies if I'm not supposed to ask for info in this part of the site but struggling to do this on my phone. Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome :-)

I would have thought that's about right as the miles are low for the year, check for full service history and mot certificates to see if the history adds up. make sure you get some kind of warranty and haggle for a better deal if you are a cash buyer. plenty of duetto owners on the forum to give good advise too.

Re: Hello everyone
Hi Denise and Colin,
On the Duetto (Ford) check for rust (or filler) as this seems to be a drawback on the Transit based units.
(I'm NOT biased but the Symphony on a Peugeot base doesn't have this problem -well not yet on our 1999 model)
The Symphony is basically the same layout.
Good Hunting!

Re: Hello everyone
Hi all, thanks for all the advice and welcomes. We are now the excited owners of the Duetto we've been to see. Had recently had new cambelt and we talked the price down nicely too so very pleased. Will be exploring the rest of this forum now until we pick it up in a few weeks time. Bye for now and thanks again :-)

Re: Hello everyone
Welcome, and well done on your new arrival.
Two friends of our have Duettos and love 'em and we actually tried to get one for our first motorhome, but couldn't find one that suited. I bet you can't wait to get your hands on it.
We'll give you a wave when we're in Hereford next week.
