'Vorspung Durch Technic'
Was "volunteered" to drive my daughter back home (by car) after staying with us with the latest brand new Grandaughter - 130 odd miles up the motorway .
What is it with some of these 'ultimate driving machine' drivers ?? I used to find it was a percentage of BMW drivers that always came up your rear at incredible speed well exceeding the speed limit that they all seem to regard as a joke and then persist in closely 'tailgating' if you 'dare' to use the outside lane (e.g.to overtake overtaking lorries etc.)
Yesterday it was one Audi after another aggresively so close to us and in my rear view mirror I could easily count their nostril hairs. Had to give way and they then became a tiny dot in the distance. (I am not a slow dithery driver but I was taught to allow sensible safe following distances for the road conditions and average traffic flow bearing in mind the the volume of traffic encountered.
Is it the badges on these cars that seem to require (what seems) the vast majority who own them t to go so recklessly on the motorways????
Rant Temporarily Over

As a taxi driver who is on motorways to airports every day I see this all the time and you are right that BMW's have given way to Audis. This is due to Audis being more "tax efficient" to the company car driver.

Oh how that is "Preaching to the converted!"
I have a simple rule. "The closer they get the slower I go!" That way, if they hit me I am in less danger and they do less damage!
Many years ago one total shook his fist at me as he drove past; so I blew him a kiss.
This incensed him so much that he waved my into a lay-by. I agreed with his request and pulled in.
I was driving an A40 van at the time and at 5'11" tall and about 15 stones I was the smallest of the four people inside! My three passengers were all asleep and out of view of the when he waved me over; but by the time he had got out of his car, walked back along the lay-by and looked up he could see four faces, of which I was the prettiest!
I still remember the look on his face as he hesitated and stopped as I started to get out of the van. Apparently my sexy smile and second blown kiss didn't have the same effect on him because he turned around, almost ran back to his car and drove away.
To this day I am unaware as to what I did to cause the original fist shaking!
"Illegitimus carborundum!" as they say in Rome!
Best regards,

Hi All.
I usually find the odd comment in a topic that I don't quite agree with.
But in this case I cannot.
Add me to the Audi bashers.
Whisky.

Was careful to say 'some' drivers
- Stressed Executives and a fair number of Management Consultants' (probably) in company cars as pointed out.

Funny thing is.......when we see a car obviously exceeding the speed limit, or driving not in accordance with the Highway Code, we say, "another mad Audi driver".
Very often we are right!!

There I was nodding in agreement when someone had to go and malign a group of the finest people known to mankind!
Do you realise that some of them actually have to pay for their own petrol when they go on holiday?? Well, DO YOU??
Best regards,
