Wish I had thought to leave an ASOF calling card with the helpful 'Footman' at 'Palace House' .....

One of life's missed opportunities ....... scratch head

Our family's first ever AS camper (and only our second van) was a Commer!

Not quite as distinctive as that one - IIRC it was a rather boring blue/grey. I only drove it once and it wasn't much fun - a really vague gearchange, and no power steering, so hard work at parking speeds...

Hi CC,

Can definitely recommend going ....... something for everyone IMHO ....

Large Car Parks (no height barriers),

As you will not be able to see it all in one go, your ticket allows an extra (one day) free visit, up six days, following your original visit !!

Hi there,

I agree it's a superb place though I haven't been for many, many years.

When certain things were illegal Lord Montagu had been involved in some scandal or other and his name had been plastered all over the Sunday Papers about a month before my visit to the area.

Cruising along and minding my own business as I approached the estate I saw the familiar triangular road sign with the "curve" logo and started to slow down.

Underneath the curved bit it said "BEND" and under that someone had written "Not sensored1 likely!"

Enjoy your visit but don't drop any soap in the toilets! Whistle1

Best regards,
drinksallround

Hi Dutto Very amusing, I think the 'star' of the News of the World was in fact the Father of the present Lord. I seem to remember the ditty at the time, The Boy stood on the burning deck...... throwing down fritters was involved somewhere hugegrins
