Autosleeper wannabee joining the forum
Hello.
We are Merv and Julia and we thought it a good idea to join you as we are in the process of moving? from a caravan to (hopefully) motorhome ownership! We have decided that Autosleepers are the best and in particular the Monocoques! I would like if possible to seek advice from the members in another post or three.
Many thanks
Merv and Julia

Re: Autosleeper wannabee joining the forum
I can understand your desire to get hold of a AS Monocoque.
Which obviously depends on circumstances - if space is no problem then the daddy has to be a Legend, or if you want a newer van then the Amethyst is the one (others such such as the Medallion or Excelsior shouldn't be ignored)
Medium sized then my preference is the Executive having owned one for 8 years, but others prefer the Talsiman layout.
It is still possible to buy a brand new Executive (from dealer stock) although no new models will be made --if you have the cash that is !!
On the smaller sized vans the newer Gatcombe or Clubman Anniversary (basically same van) are great vans in their class and IMO have a nicer body shell than the older but
very popular Clubman.
Take your time looking around these superb products, there are some good vans about and they scrub up well

Welcome to the forum.
We recently upgraded from a Bongo to an Autosleeper Clubman, which has a great layout for two people. There is an almost identical model to ours for sale at our local garage, but you are at the opposite end of the country.
Phil

Like Philip Bull we too had a Bongo (Monty)as our first experiance of motorhoming . Moved onto to an AS Symbol (Hilda) in 2007 then changed to our Executive ( Nancy) in 2011.
Great van and almost perfect for the 2 of us.
Our record shows that as soon as we reckon the van is perfect, we then change/upgrade
Welcome to the brotherhood, don't forget, ask any questions you wish & someone here will respond with costructive comment, as we've all been there and done it!

Hi
Many thanks for your very kind welcome messages. they are appreciated.
Roger. We are retired folk! and can only afford to be looking at models 1995 to 2001 ish but there are lots of good vans out there to buy in our price range and first thing in the new year we will put our caravan on the market and start looking in earnest. we are leaning towards an Executive size wise but keeping our minds open for the rest.
Many thanks in advance for the advice!!
