Re: cold cold winter
Would be nice but real life and work is a must for us To be honest though if i was able to clear off I would have the house fully drained down or having the heating coming on for an hour or so a couple fo times a day

Then again, it's the Daily Excess. And they're still not totally convinced that their Saintly Princess Diana did actually die on a dirty week-end in Paris

Must be really short of news when the papers start telling us that in some parts of the country, over some of the winter months it is likely to be cold.
They can't tell you what the weather is going to be like three days in advance most times,

Hi All,
I hope they are wrong as we are planning a trip to the UK in early February. Mind you I always carry a large shovel at that time of the year and all being well we will have winter tyres on as well.

Re: cold cold winter
Here's the forecast from the Met Office - usually fairly reliable and not out to sell newspapers......................
UK Outlook for Thursday 6 Dec 2012 to Thursday 20 Dec 2012:
As is usual, there are uncertainties in the forecast for this period. There are however, some signs of more settled conditions across much of the UK during the first part of December. So, although there are no strong indications of any particular weather type predominating, on balance, colder than average conditions are favoured, with an increased risk of frost and fog, as well as some wintry showers.
