hello
Hi, found your little forum while searching pics,
I have bought a 1993 vintage vw trident a little unloved around the edges but a good vehicle to transform into a real stunner over the next months.
I will be on here a lot asking you all stupid questions as this vehicle is new to me, but I do love it and have used her for a few vw shows and yes the cool gang frown on the high-top but I just couldn't stay in a van crouched for a weekend as my little high-top is a very comfy place to be.
I have spoken to a few trident owners on the caravan club sites when I've been using my caravan and they have all been really nice people and I do remember one guy mentioning a forum.
so be gentle with me ,
Regards Gary

Re: hello
Yeah I'll post as I get on with the makeover,,
The bus is a vw transporter type 4, 2.0ltr manual 8v motor its a swb model but no pas,,, but this can be sorted but its a pricey job but this van is a keeper so its on the after cosmetics list as I can manage with it for now.
The condition is a clean interior but many poor body repairs have been done, but hey it was a real bargain price and I would be naughty to rework a mint bus into my creation.
Just to let you know the future sort of plan is a repaint in a modern subtle colour and a bit of colour codeing and some modern style graphics applied, replace the old worn out strip lights in the interior with LED's new none flowery curtains and a retrim of the standard seating and cushions and yes a laminated floor as its easier to keep clean.
The stuff you might not like wheels and a rework of the suspension and yes a modern tv hifi dvd and sound system fitted in factory locations and subtle.
regards gary

Re Hello
Hi. Welcome to the ASOF from a fellow Trident owner. Brilliant vehicles aren't they? I too get a little bit of stick from other VW camper owners about the high roof and it's being not a "proper" VW. I think they mean it's not air cooled (with no internal heating) and it's too easy to drive (it's got power steering). Me, I just enjoy it's comforts......!
