Gone to pot

Does nothing work properly any more, tried to call the doctors today as they had screwed up my medication (again) and message "We don't take calls on Mondays as it is our busiest day" "Dial 999 if an emergency or call back later in the week.
I cant talk to the telephone company about my phone or internet, I tried to make an overseas payment in USD and the credit card company can't tell me what the exchange rate is. Turn on the tap and cola comes, look in the river at the bottom of the garden and cola and worse goes in. There are potholes the size of a bomb crater in the road outside yet the council has spent my taxes painting double yellows down a road where I haven't seen a car parked in 20 years. Politicians and those in positions of authority have their noses in the trough at the same time as fleecing anyone they can get away with that doesn't make them unpopular. Workman give a quote and then never come back or just don't turn up, the Police cant deal with burglars but no problem if you are doing 34 in a 30.
You can tell I have had a bad morning.
I have worked in some pretty corrupt and inefficient places, Africa, Russia and more, at least you KNEW the powers that be were corrupt and that Dick Turpin was behind the mask and if you switched the light it probably wouldn't come on . 
Its all become a .... show.
There I feel better now.

Oh and by the way……being a prolific poster you will know the  answer This is my 1,000 th post. On reaching this milestone do I  get a prize, badge or free holiday in Cornwall?

Your original post was pretty depressing though true, is Anarchy the way to go?  I don't think any of the current crop of useless idiot politicians will make any difference, tax and waste other peoples money on wokeness, hammer the pensioners,  ignore the infrastructure, build on green field sites and outlaw freedom of speech seems to be their general direction, not much different to the last lot.

Back to normal now. I nice Phelps will put it all right tomorrow.

Humour is so important if we could all embrace it the World would be a better place.
All these inconveniences are trivial compared to what I know many of us here have seen.

I take it that an Elephant's foot being referred to is a Spam Fritter, it was in the Navy.  I always preferred babies heads, suet steak and kidney pudding, not so greasy.  My favourite was sautéed kidneys on fried bread for breakfast, probably not best to state the naval slang for this dish, it involved a raft.

Nah, it’s choux pastry filled with cream and topped with chocolate.
