Habitation External Door lock
Hi
I am the proud owner of an AS Broadway EKTBLP 2013 model. I have noticed that the habitation door handle is a tad loose at the point just below where the lock is sited, it doesn't seem to seat properly.
How easy is it to fix this or would I be better off just replacing the handle?
Also could someone please identify the handle for me from the attched photo? I think it's a Zadi type, but not 100% sure.
Kind Regards
Gary

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the information regarding uploading files etc...
Having looked at the picture of the handle you've suggested, I don't think it's this type. The lock appears to be an integral part of the pull handle.
I haven't removed the handle from the door yet, but it looks to me like it sits within the shroud, which is separate from the pull handle.
Perhaps the one you suggest is a later model and would fit perfectly, not sure!

Your door is probably a Hartal. Zadi if the barrel lock manufacturer not the complete handle.

Re: Habitation External Door lock
It is a Hartal door, ours is bit loose on the handle but doesn’t causes any problem.
When I had the inner door off to replace the central locking actuator I don’t remember seeing any way of tightening the rods that operate the catches..

Mike,
Thanks for your reply and confirming the type of handle.
The handle isn't causing any issues, it's just a bit wobbly, but I thought I might try and repair it or replace it.
If you have already investigated this issue with no resolve, then I'll leave it for now and decide later on if the handle becomes any worse.
May I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has responded to my query. All were most helpful.
Great forum guys.
Kind regards
Gary

I thought I'd update this topic as I have had to remove the handle from the habitation door as it was getting worse.
After removing all 6 screws, the handle was released and I noticed at the base of the handle on the inside was a brass pin, which the handle pivots on. This was sticking out precariously to one side, which was causing the handle not to seat itself correctly.
Once I had pushed the pin firmly back in, the problem of the wobbly handled totally disappeared.
It was a quick fix and I thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to fix your handle before the pin falls out and you can't use the handle.
Regards
Gary
