ULEZ Compliance Variations ? Empty ULEZ Compliance Variations ?

Post by zeberdy Thu Dec 14, 2023 9:17 am

Hi all,

We own a 2006 Auto sleeper topaz with the 5 cylinder Diesel engine AXE 175 Bhp.

Knowing it was not ULEZ compliant as that tends to be diesels from 2016 on and Euro 6 compatible i recently put the reg in the Gov ULEZ checker web site https://vehiclecheck.drive-clean-air-zone.service.gov.uk/vehicle_checkers/enter_details

I was surprised and don't understand that it is shown as no charge for some arears namely Bath Portsmouth & Bradford see below can only assume they don't apply a standard set of criteria ?

ULEZ Compliance Variations ? Empty Re: ULEZ Compliance Variations ?

I received a message from the Greater Manchester authority yesterday, informing me that they were now going to adopt an 'investment led' non-charging model (subject to government approval). What this means is that the cameras which have been installed at some considerable cost are now redundant and that we are not going to be charged £10 to drive out of Manchester (I live on the proposed border and was going to have to pay to leave the low emission zone).

Indeed the local authorities can use their own charging criteria.

Bradford don’t charge for private cars (so I assume that’s how the OPs MH is classed by DVLA for VED purposes)

Bradford council will at some stage get bitten as they have put in writing that they will NEVER charge for private cars….never is a very long time!
