Hi as anyone painted plastic moldings on side of Peugeot boxer van ? If so has it stayed on or flacked off.

Re: Warwick XL plastic trims
Why do you want to paint the trims? If it’s because they have become dull, there are other remedies which you can find via the search facility above. Painting flexible plastic can be a less than successful undertaking I’m afraid.

As Tinwheeler says, there are other solutions if the trim is just faded and grey like 50/50 boiled linseed oil and white spirit.

I agree with Glyne, and it needs to be a specific plastic primer

Re: Warwick XL plastic trims
from my trade lots of people paint vans trucks as to the company colours .ref grills bumpers and don't have problems if the correct paint is used.
what people would do them self is up to them but lets help the new member as to what he asked
ask his reason to want to paint then It may be to forward other post with the plastic upgrades and what to do and use

Whatever your opinion on the way forward I think we all agree they are a pain to keep looking nice. Particularly as the plastic is a significant portion of the side profile etc.

I noticed this when viewing various A/S van conversions before buying my van 5 years ago but why does the Symbol come with colour coordinated front arches but not on any of the other models I’ve seen?

Painting plastic is no different to steel. Its all down to preparation, using the correct materials and the right temperature. Small mouldings are easily done with aerosols. Van side mouldings etc I would do with a compressor. Paint and advice from your local motor factors. I recently did our Mirror Guards in white gold to match the van, much nicer than the white they came in.
Ideally the mouldings should be removed.
To just restore the grey plastic, Polytrol (Amazon etc) is good and seems to last well.
Don't hesitate to ask for any advice, I have had a lifetime in the body repair business.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

The OP is on-line right now, perhaps they will answer why they are asking.

Mmm, or maybe not. I only asked because we may have been able to save him a lot of work. Oh well…Paulmold wrote:The OP is on-line right now, perhaps they will answer why they are asking.

Re: Warwick XL plastic trims
There is also this one, which is the one to use on faded plastic trims, or is it all a gimmick. My trims are starting to fade but I don't want to spend hours on something that will only last a month. Can anyone enlighten me on the longevity of this product?

The best thing I have used on faded plastic is teak oil tried all the other products and teak oil brings the bumpers back to life
