Radio Aerial
Hi
Some overhanging loose branches in the new forrest decided to remove the side mounted radio arerial on or 2008 Nuevo EK
It is mounted on the bulkhead on the nearside just above the door
I have the replacement but just need to get to the back of he aerial mount inside the vehicle to unscrew the mount and fit the new one
Does anyone know how to access the rear of the mount inside the cab
Cheers

Re: Radio Aerial
This tells how to remove it on a boxer.

Seems a lot of hassle for a simple thing like an aerial!

Re: Radio Aerial
Unfortunately this one is mounted on the Autosleeper fitted panel above the door and is behind the trims, linings and backing to the side of the front overhead locker

Re: Radio Aerial
That just makes it worse....
The last post on that link is pretty valid though, one of those internal stick to the screen antennas might be a way forward, maybe. At least in the meantime?

Re: Radio Aerial
I had thought of that but I'm still left witha lump of corroded aluminium which is whats left of the original mount on the side panel
It still works if the signal is strong enough I just want to get rid of the remains of the original mount and replace with a new one

Re: Radio Aerial
Here's a thought. If you can remove the mount, (cut, grind, file...carefully) which gives you access to the cabling, then get a new mount that will screw from above. Could drill and fit rivnuts, and bolt it to the body from the outside. Maybe a thicker rubber grommet to seal with.
Again, sounds like a right faff, but could be easier than trying to get to the inside maybe.

Re: Radio Aerial
Isn't there enough of the base left to implement the traditional solution to this problem?
